As of 4/4/2013, SB 1160 is now in effect across Connecticut. This 138 page gun ban drastically alters the laws regarding firearms in Connecticut. No answer in this FAQ should be considered updated until this message is removed. The fees are listed on the first page of DPS Form 799-c which is available at any local issuing authority or the Department of Public Safety.

The Department of Public Safety in addition to the fee for a National Criminal History Records Check, began on October 1, 2009, charging applicants for the State Criminal History Record Checks conducted as part of the application process to obtain Eligibility Certificates and Permits to Carry Pistols and Revolvers.
